Then your dreams are coming true this Saturday night – and we’ve got three double passes to give away to this VIP-only event!
As part of the 2014 VIVID lights festival, five of our trainers will be providing the live soundtrack to the Incredibly Short Film Festival‘s launch screening this Saturday 24th May, happening outdoors at the North Sydney Olympic pool – right underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Incredibly Short Film Festival = GIFs!

The ISFF showcases and celebrates the wonder of GIFs as incredibly short films, and features GIFs curated and commissioned from all over the globe. While there will be no shortage of LOL-inducing GIFs (we hear it includes an extended montage of the best LOLcats), the festival explores the full spectrum of the GIF as an art form, ranging from the surreal to the sublime – and everything in-between.
The Performance
As GIFs are a modern form of silent film, in reference to the classic silent film screenings of early last century – which were typically accompanied by live music, the films will be soundtracked by a live performance from some of Liveschool’s trainers.
On-stage, each performer will be using an Ableton Push connected to an un-synced laptop, for a semi-improvised performance of hand-played hypnotic loops and phrases. The music is composed to perfectly compliment the short looping of the GIFs, highlighting the beauty and power of using repetition in both film and music.
As well as pieces composed especially for the event, some of the trainers own songs will be performed – including a 5-piece Push performance of Touch Sensitive’s “Pizza Guy”.

To WIN one of 3 double passes to the VIP launch screening of the ISFF this Saturday night, send an email to rsvp@incrediblyshortfilmfestival.com with the subject line “Liveschool Double Pass” – the first five emails to hit their inbox will get the tickets. 
For the lucky winners, you’ll want to get down to the North Sydney Olympic pool (just next to Luna Park) where doors open at 6:30pm, with the screening and performance starting at 7:20pm.
If you miss out on tickets or can’t make it this Saturday, the Incredibly Short Film Festival will also be screening at 7pm on Sat 31 May, Sat 7 June & Sun 8 June (but with no live musical accompaniment).
