The last time we reported on the doings of Sam Sakr his work was focused primarily on writing and producing for others – songs you’d likely know, for acts as diverse as Dua Lipa, Guy Sebastian, G Flip, Jessica Mauboy and The Veronicas.
In the time between visits he’s worked internationally, along such songwriting greats as Alex Hope, Justin Tranter and Sarah Aarons. His trademarks are a lightning-fast production workflow and a writing technique using his trusty Push 2.
Now, his debut release as Sakr – ‘Home Again’ – a reflective meditation of life on the road – and a fully self-realised work, from production through to artwork.
On other works he’s got in the pipeline: “There’s an Alt-J remix for Tuka just come out, an upcoming release with Perth artist Teischa – and currently working on the Sakr live show.”
