Those with an eye on the world of big room tech sounds will already be familiar with the name Jaysounds. James studied with us before even leaving school, and immediately made a name for himself under the Jaysounds moniker on the underage festival circuit – and then quickly outgrew that with a rapid rise on the back of his heaving, club ready production.
Now, with writing credits for Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks, enthusiastic support from fellow DJs and over a million plays on Spotify alone, Jaysounds has truly pushed through to the next level. The most recent evidence of the rise of Jaysounds is his latest single “Control”, a collaboration with vocalist Bianca, climbing the ARIA dance charts.
“Bianca and I met years ago through some mutual friends and have worked on multiple projects for pop artists together. Originally ‘Control’ was written as a pitch for another artist but Bianca and I felt it was too close to the heart to let it go.”
Control is a certified peak time anthem – serving up euphoric synth arpeggios, a hooky vocal chorus and some eye watering bass production. Its a fine example of an artist who has truly hit their stride.
On working with Bianca, James is full of praise for an artist who’s ambition matches his own:
“Her talent and drive is something I haven’t seen from many other artists. We were involved in a few writing camps together and were fortunate enough to have a placement in the Aquaman movie! It was only a matter of time before we made a song of our own together”
Whether his Jaysounds project moves towards pop production, or delivers more hard edge dance floor sounds – only time will tell – but our bet is that whichever direction James moves next, Jaysounds is a name that will only grow in recognition.
